Close both eyes. Look from the other eye.

Rumi (via hheal)

this popped into my head in a meditation yesterday… I was seeing things (eyes closed) but having difficulty making them out - the harder i’d try to focus the more the image would blur - In the back of my mind I heard quite clearly “Not those eyes - Look from the other eye” and when I focused on my third eye the picture became quite clear - It was a really cool experience that I immediately shared with some friends - Seeing it pop up on my dash is further proof to me that this was an important message about sight and senses.

It doesn’t make sense to call ourselves ugly, because we don’t really see ourselves. We don’t watch ourselves sleeping in bed, curled up and silent with chests rising and falling with our own rhythm. We don’t see ourselves reading a book, eyes fluttering and glowing. You don’t see yourself looking at someone with love and care inside your heart. There’s no mirror in your way when you’re laughing and smiling and happiness is leaking out of you. You would know exactly how bright and beautiful you are if you saw yourself in the moments where you are truly yourself.

As a doctor, let me tell you what self-love does:
It improves your hearing, your eyesight, lowers your blood pressure, increases pulmonary function, cardiac output, and helps wiring the musculature. So, if we had a rampant epidemic of self-love then our healthcare costs would go down dramatically. So, this isn’t just some little frou-frou new age notion, oh love yourself honey. This is hardcore science.

The appearance of things change according to the emotions, and thus we see magic and beauty in them, while the magic and beauty are really in ourselves.

There is so much truth in this statement, something we take for granted in our daily lives.  How much brighter is the sunrise when we are joyful? Sam.

In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.
